Kelly Eustis, a 21-year-old Republican from Argyle, is on the road with "The Stop Obama Tour," which begins with a rally in Sacramento, Calif. this morning.
"Our first one is in a couple of hours and then we’re headed to Reno, Nevada for our second stop," Eustis said during a telephone interview. "And we'll be coming through the north part of the United States all the way through Ohio in to Pennsylvania and (Washington) DC."
Eustis took a semester off college and is working as eCampaign coordinator with Our Country Deserves Better, a conservative political action committee that organized the tour.
"So basically there I do the outreach and all that good stuff — press releases, media relations, like we had a guy on Fox News today from our organization. So we’re hitting it pretty big," he said.
Meanwhile, back on the home front Eustis is taking a bipartisan approach to local politics.
Eustis and Kameron Spaulding, a 20-year-old Democrat, announced Wednesday they have teamed up to form a political action committee focussed on local issues in Argyle.
Better Argyle will be developing a number of initiatives in the coming weeks, including forming a community committee to develop an economic development plan for the town, according to the group's Web site.
Eustis said the Argyle group will focus more on issues than political candidates, at least in the beginning.
